Hollywood studios employees caught pirating films

  • PDF

The US movie industry claims online piracy is costing it billions of dollars in lost revenues. However, data released by TorrentFreak shows “BitTorrent piracy is rampant in Hollywood” where studios employees are busy pirating films.

“Hollywood isn’t without ‘sin’ when it comes to piracy. The MPAA and others lobby very hard for anti-piracy measures, but can’t even stop piracy in the offices of their own member studios,” Torrentfreak.com reported.

The website dedicated to reporting the latest news and trends on the BitTorrent protocol and file sharing claims “BitTorrent piracy is rampant in Hollywood.”

Torrentfreak published some of the files that Hollywood studios were sharing; starting with Paramount Pictures who’s static IP-addresses were associated with the downloading of a wide variety of content.

The indie production “Battle Force” was one of the movies shared, as well as the Lionsgate film “The Hunger Games”. However, the list also included “Happy Feet”, a movie distributed by competitor Warner Bros.

According to TorrentFreak, film insiders at Warner Bros. were also frequent BitTorrent users, with “a particular interest in adult entertainment” and “The Expendables 2” among the titles that were allegedly downloaded via Warner Bros. IP-addresses.

The website said Sony Picture employees, among others, were sharing games, TV-shows and movies at work, such as 20th Century Fox’s Ice Age: Continental Drift, and an episode of Top Chef.

Bon Voyage! Movie star Depardieu gives up French citizenship over tax evasion accusations

French actor Gerard Depardieu says he is going to renounce his French citizenship over “insulting” criticism and accusations of tax evasion he faced after announcing his plans to move to Belgium.

"I don't ask to be approved, but I could at least be respected!" Depardieu wrote in an open letter to Prime Minister Jean-Marc Ayrault, adding: "All those who have left France have not been insulted as I have been."

His sentiments were mirrored by  who said the actor’s decision was a “real shame”.
His words referred to Ayrault`s comment in which the Prime Minster Jean Marc Ayrault called
Depardieu`s decision to leave France "pathetic", accusing the actor of trying to avoid taxes.

Earlier it was reported that Depardieu had acquired property in the Belgium village of Nechin.
"I find it quite pathetic, everyone loves him as an artist but paying your taxes is an act of solidarity and patriotism." Mr Ayrault said.

The French culture Minister Aurelie Filippetti has also said he disappointed by Depardieu decision to renounce his French citizenship.

He also remarked that many of those who have decided to leave France like Depardieu have done so not because they are worried about becoming poor but so they can get even richer.

Depardieu, who is known for his passionate temperament, was outraged by the minister`s reaction. "Who are you to judge me in this way?" he asked, stressing that he had always paid his taxes.

"I'll give you back my passport and my social security that I have never used. We no longer have the same country,” the actor concluded in an angry letter published in the weekly newspaper le Journal du Dimanche.

On Thursday it was also announced that Depardieu is set to sell his historic Paris mansion. Reports say the property is listed at $65 million.

Depardieu`s decision to seek Belgium residency has been seen by many as an attempt to evade fresh taxes introduced by President Francois Hollande.

The new measures include a wealth tax, starting at a rate of 0.25%, targeting French citizens with assets over 1.3 million euros, and a 75% tax on income exceeding one million euros.

Belgium does not imposes any additional taxes on its rich citizens, making it a lucrative destination for French millionaires to settle.

The latest in the list of tax exiles is French mogul Bernard Arnault – the country`s richest man , who applied for Belgian citizenship three months ago. Although Arnaul denied that his move was connected to the freshly imposed taxes, his decision inspired a wave of criticism in the French press.

The mayor of the small Belgian village, Neshen, where Depardieu has moved has confirmed that the actor has asked for Belgian citizenship.

Sarah Jessica Parker's makeup artist caught on surveillance tape

  • PDF

The Nobel hostess Sarah Jessica Parker and her team were severely delayed when they on Wednesday were leaving the Norwegian airport Gardermoen after the Nobel Peace Prize Concert.

Caught on tape

The reason for the delay was that the actress' makeup artist, Leslie Lopez, was accused of shoplifting sunglasses at the airport.
She was allowed to leave after accepting a $1,400 fine.

However, it seems like the sunglasses wasn't the only thing the makeup artist took during her stay in Oslo.

A surveillance tape the Norwegian newspaper Dagbladet has obtained, allegedly shows Lopez while she is taking a lipstick from a luxury department store in Oslo last Monday.

The video shows the woman unpacking a lipstick, as she walks across the floor. She then leaves the empty package on a dressing table, and picks up a similiar lipstick, which she brings to the sales clerk at the checkout counter.

The woman tells the clerk that she has forgotten her creditcard and must return to pay later. The clerk then walks over to the table, and finds the empty container, a source close to the incident, who has seen the tape, tells Dagbladet.

Confirms the incident

The store manager of the shop Estetique confirms the incident.
"I can confirm that Sarah Jessica Parker's makeup artist stole from our store. It's been reported to the police, like all other cases of theft," he says.

Another eyewitness at the store, tells Dagbladet that Lopez introduced herself as Sarah Jessica Parker's makeup artist.

The makeup artist has been close to Sarah Jessica Parker since 2005, and the New York Post has given her credit for the famous actress' «glamorous look».

A misunderstanding

When the newspaper VG Nett yesterday confronted Lopez with the shoplifting incident at the airport, she said that it was all a misunderstanding.
"I forgot to take the sunglasses out of the basket when I was hurrying to the gate," she said.

Dagbladets has not succeeded in reaching Leslie Lopez today, but a spokesperson tells the website TMZ that Lopez handed over the lipstick to a salesperson before she left the store.

This is incorrect, according to the manager of the makeup store.

"That's complete nonsense. She did not hand it over to anybody before she left."

Dirty Family Affair-Mother And Daughter Filming Porn Together

  • PDF

alt
A mother and daughter have found a unique way to make money – by filming hardcore porn scenes together and have even had sex with the same person at the same time!

Jessica, 56, and Monica, 22, use the stage name "The Sexxxtons" and refuse to give out their real surnames. But The Huffington Post has confirmed the pair actually is mother and daughter by reviewing their driver's licenses, their private Facebook pages and by looking at private family photos that span across 20 years.

The Tampa, Florida mother and daughter tag team say they enjoy working together, especially filming threesomes. Monica says: "I enjoy the sex and I enjoy being with my mom.

"During the scenes I think about how we're going to be filthy rich."

But the women insist that their on-camera activities are not incestuous and that they take great care not to have any inappropriate contact with each other when they both have sex with the same person.

"We don't have a problem doing two-on-one," Jessica says about filming threesomes with her daughter. "We will have sex with one man, but not interact with each other."

Her daughter adds: "It's not easy to do. Our lips never touch and that can be a problem when filming."

Jessica and Monica, who have their own X-rated website, launched their porn careers three years ago when they were about to get evicted from their home.

Monica, who worked as a dancer and encouraged her mom to get into porn, says: "I've always been an exhibitionist and sex just oozed out of me.

"It was my idea. I dropped out of school in ninth grade and figured this was a good way to earn money."

Jessica agrees, saying: "The money was part of the reason, but so was fun, and having sex with hot guys."

But Monica agrees that, along with bestiality, there is one other boundary she will not cross: Filming scenes with her younger brother who is also involved in the family business.

She says: "He's a virgin and I don't want his first sex experience to be with someone who is just doing it for money and isn't into him."

"The money was part of the reason, but so was fun, and having sex with hot guys," Jessica said, adding that she prefers her new job to her old career, bartending, for one simple reason: "You don't have to get dressed to go to work."

For the most part, the Sexxxtons only have sex in the same room when on camera, but Jessica said they did do a threesome with one of her boyfriends one night. "We were talking about sex and it happened. We all had a good time," she said.

Monica has no plans to have a child of her own, but she and Jessica agree that if she had a child who wanted to go into the family business at a legal age, they'd allow it.

There are limits though: No animals and Monica doesn't want to film scenes with her younger brother. "He's a virgin and I don't want his first sex experience to be with someone who is just doing it for money and isn't into him," she said.

Family-oriented porn can be a fairly common fantasy scenario, but it is rare to have real family members work together in scenes.

In 1998, "Three Brothers," a gay porn film, featured three real-life brothers, Vince, Shane and Hal Rockland, in a sex scene with an unrelated male but they didn't have sex with each other.

In addition, the Milton twins, Cali Marie and Cherish, have done scenes together since 2004, usually not touching. In 2008, porn star Elli Foxx filmed a scene with her mother, Desi, for a film called "Wanna F*** My Daughter Gotta F*** Me First 2."

According to an interview they did with Howard Stern, they made sure to stay 10 feet apart while filming.

Monica may see filming sex scenes with her mother as a ticket to the big time, but adult film historian Bill Margold doubts they will be able to parlay their notoriety to mainstream porn.

"The adult industry is not that stupid," Margold told HuffPost. "They have enough problems without creating on-camera incest."

Bollywood ‘icon’ Khan casts spell on Moroccans

  • PDF

alt
AFP - Bollywood “prince charming” Shah Rukh Khan whipped thousands of Moroccans into a frenzy at the Marrakesh film festival when he danced to the tunes of movie songs at the Jamaa El Fna square.

Khan, 47, popularly known as “King Khan”, was cheered at the square -- a mecca of tourism in Morocco -- where a giant screen was installed to show a preview of his latest Hindi movie, “Jab Tak Hain Jaan” (Till My Last Breath).

In its 12th edition, the festival which runs until December 8 in this ochre city, is presenting a “special tribute” to Indian cinema as it celebrates its centenary.

“I am pleased to present the star, the icon of Indian cinema, Shah Rukh Khan,” said an organizer as the arrival of the star sparked a roar from young fans, who braved gloomy and cold weather to catch a glimpse of him.

Khan, who acted in some 80 films, was specially invited for the festival in Morocco, where Bollywood films rank alongside Egyptian movies in popularity.

A true showman, he warmed up the atmosphere with more than half-an-hour song and dance performance on stage that had the crowds screaming in appreciation.

Later festival organizers screened a preview of “Jab Tak Hain Jaan,” directed by legendary Bollywood filmmaker Yash Chopra who died in October in Mumbai, the home of India’s Hindi-language movie industry, after more than five decades of movie career.

Khan had acted in several box-office hit movies produced and directed by Chopra such as “Dilwale Dulhaniya Le Jayenge” (Bravehearts Will Take The Bride Away), “Dil To Paagal Hai” (Heart Is Crazy) and “Daar” (Fear).

He has also taken lead roles in other blockbusters such as “Kuch Kuch Hota Hai” (Something Is Happening) and “Kabhie Khushi Kabhie Gham” (Sometimes Joy, Sometimes Sorrow) directed by another popular Bollywood filmmaker Karan Johar.

“This is the first time I am seeing Shah Rukh Khan. This is a dream. He was two feet away from me. He is so simple and modest,” Khadija Ariba, a young student, told AFP.

“I know all his films. They talk of love, injustice, humanity... things that we speak of. He is the prince of most girls.”

For many fans it was an “unforgettable” experience at Jamaa El Fna.

“We watch movies on satellite channels and some movie theatres. But to be present here on Jamaa El Fna is unforgettable for me,” said Ouadie El Ouwad.

Ranked in 2001 as part of the World Heritage List by UNESCO, Jamaa El Fna -- site of the April 28, 2011 bombing that killed 17 people -- was teeming with joyful fans -- mostly students and employees -- who cheered Khan.

“I left my workplace at 5 pm to see Shah Rukh Khan from close, but once here the place was already packed with people,” said Ahmed, 32, a carpenter.

“What I like most are his songs. And I have a friend, who speaks very good Hindi which he learned by watching his movies,” he said as he straddled his motorcycle.

Fifteen films are in the race for the top prize at the festival, including “Touch of the Light” by Taiwanese Chang Jung-Chi, “The Attack” by French-Lebanese Ziad Doueiri and “Like a Lion” by Samuel Collardey of France.

The festival’s jury comprises of Canadian Marie-Josee Croze, American James Gray, Moroccan Jillali Ferhati and French Lambert Wilson.

On Friday the festival kicked off with a special ovation for French actress Isabelle Huppert.
