Greek metropolitan bishop warns against Turkish series

Greeks that watch the smash Turkish TV hit “MuhteÅŸem Yüzyıl” (The Magnificent Century) are "surrendering” to the Turks, Thessaloniki Metropolitan Bishop Anthimos has told his followers, according to daily Hürriyet. 
 
"No one should watch ‘MuhteÅŸem Yüzyıl,’" the metropolitan said. "By watching Turkish series we should tell them that we have surrendered." 
 
Anthimos said the series aimed at breaking "the western Thrace union."
 
Anthimos has slammed Turkish series before, warning Greeks not to watch them on TV. 
 
Turkish shows are among the most popular TV programs in Greece, with series "Sıla" and "Muhteşem Yüzyıl" gaining some of the highest ratings.
