In conjunction with the International Jerusalem Day on August 17th, a demonstration was organized by the Friends of Jerusalem and Al Quds Committee in Oslo. The peaceful demonstration began at Jernbanetorget (Central Station) and ended beside the Literaturehouse, 350 meters away.

Â
After the demonstration, an open meeting was held at the Literaturhouse with Vibeke Løkkeberg and clips of her documentary film Tears of Gaza, Dr. Erik Fosse presenting fresh impressions from Gaza today and Fatima Khalil Jerusalem (Al Quds) must be free.Â

What is an International Day of Al-Quds?
Â
The last Friday of the holy month of Ramadan has been classified as Al-Quds Day by the leader of the Islamic Revolution of Iran, Ayatollah Imam Khomeini.
Â
International Al-Quds Day: It's been celebrated for 33 years, a day of solidarity with Palestinian Arabs; a day bemoaning the rebirth of Israel as a modern nation-state and calling for its destruction.
Â
Besides Norway, Al Quds day was marked all over the world with demonstrations where thousands of people showed support for the Palestinian people.Â
