Leaders of the opposition non-socialist parties will meet before the July 22nd report is issued Monday.
The goal of the meeting is to prepare a common strategy for how the parties should respond to the report and its findings.
NRK informs that leader of the Conservative Party Erna Solberg (photo) has invited the other non-socialist parties to the meeting, which was also requested by other party leaders.
The gathering will take place before the opposition parties have had the opportunity to read or hear the actual report, and is supposed to help the parties build a response strategy for when the report is released on Monday. However, the party leaders seem to have opposing views of how they should react.
Whereas the Christian Democrats think it is important that they support the Government in this process, the Progress Party and party leader Siv Jensen have voiced that she has been sceptical towards the July 22nd commission ever since it was appointed, and worried that the ties between the Commission and the Labor Party would be too close.
The Conservative Party has so far been quite supportive of the Government, but according to political editor in NRK, Kyrre Nakkim, this may not continue.
"Now that the report is here, it is important that the Conservative Party takes its role as an opposition party, and do not hesitate to criticize the Government if needed," he says.
The report will be issued on Monday August 13.
