The 16th Non-Aligned Movement Summit spokesman has held a press conference to talk about the upcoming meeting in the Iranian capital city of Tehran, Press TV reports.

“The main aim of the Islamic Republic of Iran in hosting the 16th Non-Aligned Movement summit is to help the movement and demonstrate its active presence,” Mohammad Reza Forqani told Press TV on Sunday.
The spokesman also briefed reporters about the present countries in the summit.
“Almost all Non-Aligned member states will participate. Up to now, we know that 31 countries will take part at the level of heads of states, four countries with their vice presidents, 10 countries with their foreign ministers, and some with their special envoys,” Forqani said.
“These figures will increase as we get closer to the summit. Altogether, we estimate that 6,000 delegates will participate in this event,” he added.
The 16th summit of the NAM member states will be held in Tehran from August 26 to August 31.
Iran will assume the rotating presidency of the movement for three years during the Tehran summit.
NAM, an international organization with 120 member states and 21 observer countries, is considered as not formally aligned with or against any major power bloc.
