Rwandan Hutu rebels have killed at least 50 civilians in eastern Congo this month, according to the UN.

UN agency OCHA says that 22 of them were killed in an attack in the village Kamananga in the province of South Kivu on Monday.
The organization accuses the rebel Democratic Forces for the Liberation of Rwanda (FDLR) to have been behind the killings.
FDLR was formed on the basis of the old government forces in Rwanda, the Hutu militia along with behind the genocide which cost over 800,000 lives in 1994.
Hutu rebels have for years spread fear in the eastern Congo and accused of systematic abuses against civilians, including killings with machetes, looting and rape.
