National Police chief detective Comr. Gen. Sutarman said on Wednesday police were interrogating the five people, who had not yet been named suspects, to determine their involvement. They have arrested because allegedly linked to a riot that broke out in Ambon, Indonesia during a torchlight parade to commemorate the anniversary of Ambonese hero Thomas "Pattimura" Matulessy on Tuesday.

"Whether or not they're suspects is still being investigated," he said as quoted by tribunnews.com. It is still unclear what triggered the riot, which left at least 51 people injured and dozens of vehicles and houses ablaze.

Sutarman said he regretted the fact that Indonesians were still very easily provoked by trivial matters. "It's so easy for our people to act recklessly, harming people both physically and materially," he said. TOT News
