Washington and New Delhi must "continue to expand trade and investment", US Secretary of State Hillary Clinton said here Tuesday.
Addressing a joint press conference with External Affairs Minister S.M. Krishna, Clinton said: "We have to continue to expand trade and investment."She said that "we should be working to having one of the world's largest trading ties".
She added that the US and India are "two great democracies... with increasingly converging interests".
The two countries, she said, have to "work to meet the challenges and seize opportunities in South and Central Asia".
While looking to India for "a broad international partnership on Iran", she wanted pressure to be maintained on Tehran to bring it to the diplomatic table.
Clinton Tuesday wraps up her three-day visit that saw her meeting Prime Minister Manmohan Singh and West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee.
