17788 K 16.4More than 200 different foreign news media and a total 1,400-1,500 staff will travel to Norway to cover the trial against Anders Behring Breivik that starts in Oslo today, Monday. Press from around the world, including Japan, Australia and the U.S., will arrive at Oslo Tinghus (courthouse) during the course of the trial to cover a case that has been met with interest and horror all over the world.

Approximately 190 seats are reserved for audience members in the courtroom, 100 of which will be occupied by journalists for the first few days. There will also be a media center inside Oslo Tinghus, and two additional ones outside of the courthouse that can accommodate close to 450 working journalists.

The total number of media representatives constitutes both journalists, technicians and photographers, and not all of them will be in Oslo to cover the trial at the same time. The trial will go on for ten weeks, and many newsrooms will change their staff throughout that period.

Just before Easter, 224 newsrooms had been accredited, 93 of them Norwegian and 131 were foreigners.

Some of the largest newspapers and publications include Japan's second biggest paper, Asahi Shimbun, with a circulation of 11 million for their morning and evening edition. Australia will be represented by the country's largest media company, Fairfax Media. BBC and Sky News have also sent teams.

The largest Western news agencies Reuters, AP; AFP, DPA and Bloomberg will also attend , along with North American newspapers such as the New York Times, Wall Street Journal and Christian Science Monitor.

From the Middle East, Al Jazeera and the news agency MENA will attend. The rest of Europe is also well represented, including several large newsrooms in Germany, the U.K., France and Spain.
