The royal family was allocated 152 million kroner last year, an increase of 9 million on the year before.

95 million of this went towards the 138 members of staff, with 72 million of this spent on wages and holiday pay.

Crown Prince Haakon and Crown Princess Mette-Marit received 16 million kroner, 1.8 million went on expenses such as official outfits for Princess Mette-Marit.

The 16 million was also used towards events, travel, and consultants, with phone and mobile use totalling 363,000 kroner.

According to magazine Kapital, the royal family is spending more money from the treasury even after adjusting for inflation, with a record of 197.5 million leaving the monarchical bank accounts in 2010 compared with 80 million kroner in 2001.
