Author Princess Märthe Louise’s sales of angel books have surpassed 30 million kroner with the second quickly crowning number two in distributors’ rankings.
The Princess, who has renounced her “Royal Highness” salutation since going into the educational and writing business, co-authored the books with Elisabeth Nordeng.
According to Dagbladet, European sales of the first book “Meet Your Guardian Angel” total 33 million kroner. The latest publication “The Secrets of Angels” is planned for sale in German, Dutch, Belgian, and Danish bookshops. Swedish, Italian, and Icelandic publishers are also said to be interested.
This new book gives advice to the reader on how to contact angels, and the authors say that angels are here to help us.
“This is for all people, not just a select few. Nevertheless, it’s like a musical talent; for some, playing comes easily, whilst others have to practice more,” Elisabeth Norden said to TV2.
Meanwhile, when asked the reason for both books’ successful sales, Cappelen Damm’s Ida Berntsen it to both authors’ writing skills and that the publications hit the mark.
Trond Blindheim, principal of the Oslo School of Management, puts this down to her title as Princess instead.
“It creates awareness about the books, makes people curious about them, and means the media writes about them”, he stated to Dagbladet, “new books in the same genre are being published all the time, but which don’t sell as well or get so much attention as these.”
The Princess has refuted claims she uses her title to her advantage.
