Want some real excitement and fun?!. Visit the Vikersund Hill on the week-end of February 22nd and watch the world's longest ski-jumps.
The new rebuilt hill will allow for ski-flyers to soar almost 250 metres. The history of Vikersund dates back to 1894. The original hill was opened in 1935 with the longest jump measuring 85 metres. During the years, the hill has been rebuilt several times to keep up with technological changes on the equipment used by the jumpers. In the year 2000 Andreas Goldberger set a hillrecord of 207 meters, and later Harri Olli set a new record of 219 metres in 2009.After the 2011 rebuild, Johan Remen Evensen set a new world record of 246,5m. The hill has been rebuilt further, to accommodate magical ski-flying of up to 250 meters and possibly further. Watch the 246,5 meter world record jump on Youtube.
