Norway and India to Cooperate in Renewable Energy

India and Norway are looking to enhance cooperation in the field of renewable energy. India is taking active interest in setting up the proposed fund in collaboration with DFID, UK and Norway for promoting off-grid solutions in the field of renewable energy. Recently, Norwegian minister for environment and international cooperation, Erik Solheim had a meeting with Indian renewable energy minister, Dr. Farooq Abdullah to discuss areas of cooperation for both the countries.
Highlighting the achievements made by India in the area of solar and wind energy, Dr. Abdullah said that the renewable energy can substantially reduce consumption of kerosene and diesel.India Norway Renewable Energy

India expressed interest in collaborating with Norway in the field of off-shore wind energy. Norway while welcoming India’s interest has invited a team from India to study the floating barrage wind farms in Norway.
