US air strike targets IS fighter Jihadi John
Nov 13, OSLO: US military has launched an air strike in Syria targetting IS fighter Mohammad Emwazi, aka Jihadi John, who is responsible for the notorious killing of two foreign journalists.
A British citizen, Jihadi John, had appeared in the beheading videos of two American journalists Steven Sotloff and James Foley along with a Japanese scribe Kenji Goto.
A US official, speaking on condition of anonymity, told news agency Associated Press, that a drone targeted a vehicle believed to be carrying Emwazi in Raqqa. There are unconfirmed reports that Emwazi was killed but Pentagon believes they got their man on target.
Emwazi, whose family had moved to Britain in 1993 after his family Kuwait failed to acquire the citizenship of the Arab nation, is also responsible for the killing of British aid workers and several other hostages.
