The UN Secretary General Antonio Guterres arrives In Afghanistan

June 14, Kabul: The United Nation Political representation office in Kabul formally confirmed that The U.N Secretary- General arrived to Kabul the capital of Afghanistan on Wednesday morning June 14, 2017.
Antonio Guterres the U.N Secretary – General also posted a short statement on his official Twitter account: “Just landed in Kabul for talks with government and people. UN stands with Afghanistan at a time of violence and suffering.”
According the UN Political office in Kabul the main purpose of Antonio Guterres’s travel to Afghanistan is meeting with Afghan leaders about situations of Afghanistan. He traveled to Afghansitan in an unannounced visit and this is the first visit to Afghanistan after he took as the UN Secretary- General.
On the other hand, two days ago his deputy JanKubis also arrived in Kabul and the United Nation Assistance Mission in Afghanistan ( UNAMA) office in Kabul has released a statement : “Mr Kubiš, former head of UNAMA, was in Kabul for one week last month conducting a broad range of meetings with national and international stakeholders. In the current two-day visit, he is scheduled to follow up with those stakeholders, in particular President Ashraf Ghani.”
The UN Secretary- General and his deputy come to Kabul at a time Afghanistan is going through violence and a new crisis.
According Afghan officials reportedly the deadly and bloody Kabul bombing expulsion on earlier this month killed more than 150 people and hundreds wounded.
