Taliban resolve successor dispute
Sept.17, Kabul: Late Taliban leader Mullah Omar’s relatives have backed his successor resolving a dispute that had threatened to split the AfghanTaliban.
The group said that Omar's eldest son and brother swore allegiance to Mullah Akhtar Mansour on Tuesday - and the movement was now united.
Appointment of Mansour had angered some Taliban leaders, but the present step have consolidated the new leaders place after weeks of uncertainty.
