Spain's government not to dissolve Catalonian parliament , instead replace leaders
Oct 21,Madrid: Spain's Prime Minister today outlined plans not dissolve the parliament of the semi-autonomous region, but instead hold elections to remove the currrent leaders.
PM Mariano Rajoy in his address after the emergency meeting stated that the government intended to hold regional elections as soon as possible.
The measures put forward by the cabinet now go to a vote by Spain's Senate as Carles Puigdemont has ignored pleas from the national government to abandon his independence campaign.
