Publisher of secular books killed, 3 wounded in Bangladesh
Nov 1, Dhaka: A publisher of secular books was killed and three others injured in a recent attacks in Bangladesh. The attack has been claimed by Muslim radicals, is the latest violence followed the killings of four atheist bloggers this year.
The local Islamist group Ansarullah Bangla Team had claimed responsibility for the killing of blogger Avijit Roy. Recently, they have also threatened to kill more bloggers. Likewise, another militant group, Ansar al-Islam, the Bangladesh division of Al-Qaida in the Indian Subcontinent, has also claimed responsibility for attacking publishers Faisal Arefin Deepan and Ahmed Rahim Tutu.
Human rights group has called the Bangladesh government for urgently protect freedom of expression.
Two of the new victims had published works of Bangladeshi-American blogger and writer Avijit Roy, who was hacked to death on the Dhaka
University campus while walking with his wife in February.
