    Plane carrying Brazilian Soccer players crashes in Colombia

    Nov 29, Rio: A plane carrying a top Brazilian football team, has crashed on its approach to the city of Medellin in Colombia, officials say.

    According to reports, the plane was carrying 81 passengers of whom atleast 6 have survived including the Chapecoense goalkeeper, Alan Ruschel.The chartered aircraft, flying from Bolivia, was carrying 22 members of the Chapecoense football team, airport officials said.

    The team was flying to for their final of the Copa Sudamericana, against Medellin team Atletico Nacional.The first leg of the final of the cup, South America's second most important club competition, was scheduled for Wednesday, but has now been suspended.

     The South American Football Confederation (Conmebol) will be suspending all its activities to mourn the loss of the players
     who were due to play in the first leg of the final of the Copa Sudamericana.

    According to an airport press release, the plane had crashed due to an electrical fault.
