Oslo Police destroy bomb like device planted in Gronland area
Apr 9, Oslo: A "bomb-like" device was destroyed in a controlled explosion in central Oslo, according to the police.
The Police had cordoned off a large part of the Gronland area on Saturday evening, before the bomb squad detonated the device.
A police spokesman said the noise was "louder" than their explosives alone would have caused and a suspect has been taken into custody.
Luckily the Oslo Police were already on high alert after a truck ploughed into a Stockholm department store, on Friday, killing four people and injuring 15 more.
Meanwhile, the device in Oslo was capable of causing only limited damage, police said. The investigation has been handed over to Norway's Police Security Service.
