Migrants clash with police on Greece-Macedonia border

Nov 29, Athens: The clashes that erupted between the riot police and migrants in Macedonia border have injured around 40 people. The police had prevented migrants to enter Macedonia from Greece.

Macedonian soldiers had raised new fence to manage migrants entering the country. Dozens of migrants, stuck in Greece after Balkan countries imposed tougher entry conditions, threw stones.

Macedonia's interior ministry says 18 police officers were injured, with two hospitalised. Some 20 migrants were treated for head injuries and breathing problems. The International Organization for Migration (IOM) says 105,000 migrants have passed through Macedonia after arriving in Greece this month.
