May accused of being inhumane
June 16, London: The British Prime Minister Theresa May has been accused of failing to show humanity for not meeting the victims of the deadly London tower block blaze.
According to the local media, anger had mounted over a list of failings that had led to the Grenfell Tower disaster, as fears grow that the death toll could soar to over 100, May promised to hold a full public inquiry into the disaster in response to mounting anger in a televised statement after meeting with the emergency services.
Former cabinet minister Michael Portillo said, “She wanted an entirely controlled situation in which she didn't use her humanity,". Seventeen people are confirmed to have died - six of whom have been provisionally identified. Death toll could soar above 100.
Earlier, London's Mayor, Sadiq Khan had been heckled by an angry crowd demanding answers.
Meanwhilee, over 1,800 people will be attending a Westminster rally on Friday night to call for "justice".
