    French Police fire tear gas at protesters in Nantes

    Feb 25, Paris: The French  riot police have used tear gas on protesters during a demonstration that was initially organized against the National Front leader’s speech (Marine Le Pen), scheduled for Sunday.

    The protests were arranged by anti-fascist and far-left union protesters in Nantes, western France. According to reports, the demonstrators, many of whom wore hoods and masks, threw smoke bombs and even a Molotov cocktail at officers, who had summoned a water cannon to the central square, injuring at least one officer, who has been taken to hospital.
