Clashes at Al-Aqsa mosque in Jerusalem, leaves several injured

Sept.13, Jerusalem: Dozens of Israeli soldiers have carried out raid on the Al-Aqsa Mosque in occupied Jerusalem early Sunday.  Bullets were reportedly thrown at Muslim worshippers that wounded several Palestinians.

The Israeli security forces used tear gas as they entered the compound. Dozens of people were removed, harassed and assaulted, according to local media reports.

Meanwhile, all men below the age of 50 were prevented from entering the mosque grounds, as they headed there for morning prayers.

The disturbances came with tensions running high after Israeli Defence Minister Moshe Yaalon last week outlawed two Muslim groups which confront Jewish visitors to the mosque compound - Islam's third holiest site.

According to latest social media reports, the situation is still ongoing.
