Chinese fleet sail close to Japanese Islands in East China Sea
Aug 6, Tokyo: Japan has made claims that China has sailed a fleet of over 230 vessels, mostly fishing boats, close to Japanese-controlled waters in the East China Sea.
Tokyo on Saturday said that the fleet included six coastguard ships, three of which appeared to be armed.Over recent years, Beijing has become increasingly assertive about its rights in waters it believes are Chinese.
According to reports, the Chinese boats had sailed close to the Senkaku Islands, which are administered by Japan but also claimed by China.
