Afghanistan: Tora Bora recaptured from the IS
June 17, Kabul: The Tora Bora caves in eastern Nangarhar province of Afghanistan is recaptured by Afghanistan security forces. 22 Islamic State fighters were killed and 10 others wounded in operation.
Islamic State militants captured Tora Bora (once used by Osama bin Laden), a mountainous area dotted with caves along Afghanistan's border with Pakistan, on Thursday.
Afghan defense minister, Gen. Tariq Shah Bahrami welcomes the U.S. government decision to send an additional 4,000 U.S. troops to Afghanistan. He said, “the decision was in consultation with the Afghan government. New U.S. troops will train and advise Afghan security forces.”
Islamic State major plan was to establish the Khorasan province but there plan was counter by security forces.
